The Vaal Wine Route

Gauteng's very own Wine Route

The Vaal Wine Route will be celebrating its 18th year this year. We would have turned 19 this year had we not have skipped 2020 due to Covid-19 😢. Traditionally, there are 2 events that run back to back including a full day of wine tasting at the Vaal River Wine Show that is hosted on the Vaal River at Stonehaven and Tsogo Sun Riverside Hotel. However,  due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will not be hosting the Vaal Wine Show this year but will look at 2022 should the restrictions be lifted.

Opening times for wine tastings are 12 midday to 6pm (last table booking at 5pm as the wine tasting lasts an hour) and is hosted at various venues on and around the Vaal River area. A designated area is set up at each venue for wine tasting. Full Covid-19 safety protocol are followed to ensure the safety of our guests and the staff at the venue.

The 9-week Vaal River Meander Wine Route is a very well-priced wine treat to beat the winter blues, as well as being able to do this at a quirky variation of different Venues on or around the banks of the Vaal River.
